Adding NPC Orcs

(Redirected from Add NPC orcs to game)

Bonfire supports Custom NPCs that players can create and place throughout the Outback or its relevant scenes.

How to add NPCs from the main menu

List of NPCs in the Repository
  1. From Bonfire's main menu, click Mods, then select "NPC Manager."
  2. The NPC Manager will show the list of Custom NPCs you already have installed within the Mods/Characters subfolder of your Bonfire directory.
    • On Windows, this path is C:\Users\UserName\AppData\LocalLow\Prasetto\Bonfire\Mods\Characters
    • On Mac, it's: Users/UserName/library/cache/prasetto/Bonfire/Mods/Characters
    • On Linux it's: [Needs to be added...]
  3. Clicking the "Refresh" button will fetch the updated list of NPCs available from the Orc Repository. If successful, the repository NPCs will have a "Summon" button next to their name. Clicking this will download the NPC into your Mods/Characters directory.
  4. Finally, you can enable the NPC by clicking in the box next to their name and marking it with an X. Clicking "Done" will reload the scene, and the NPC should show up somewhere in the world (provided their appearance conditions have been met. For example, Xhor and Xerxes both require a certain level of story progression before they actually appear.

How to Add NPCs from outside of the summoning list

Open Metafiles Location in the System menu

The Repo contains NPCs from before the Outback received its overhaul a few years ago. NPCs that were created for the old outback will have the location "Void Outback" in red. These NPCs can still be accessed by traveling to "World1" in the console, but should not be expected to work properly.

You may also install NPCs downloaded from other source, such as the game's discord server.

  1. To do so, open "System" from Bonfire's main menu and click "Open Metafiles Location." This will open a window to Bonfire's AppData directory, which matches the paths mentioned above.
  2. Open "Mods," then open "Characters," then paste or drag the .bab file here.
